The Kisutu Resident Magistrate's Court has adjourned the case No. 137 of 2019 against Tito Magoti and Theodory Giyani following the prayer from the prosecution that further investigation is needed. Tito and Theodory were brought before the court today on January 7, 2020, where they are facing three charges of economic offences. The case is scheduled again for January 21, 2020.
While the Legal and Human Rights Centre is working tirelessly alongside a team of legal counsels to defend Tito and Theodory, members of the general public and seasoned legal activists have expressed commendable solidarity with our course, within and outside the Court.
On December 20, 2019, Tito and Theodory were arrested in a manner contrary to the Criminal Procedures Act 1985 before the government established what is believed to be trumped-up charges against the two young men.
