Dear Esteemed Reader,

Greetings from the Legal and Human Right Center It’s another exciting Mlinzi wa Haki Newsletter (Second Quarter, 2021). I am here to welcome you all on board to explore the LHRC programs in an unwavering mission to ensure every person enjoys the existence of a just and equitable society. The center impressed with the launching of Tanzania's 2020 Human Rights Report which was a compiled report of the entire year 2020. The report was prepared with our intellectual team and succeeded to cover every aspect of human development. In this issue, we'll look at different eight (8) training workshops for our social workers, paralegals, and people with disabilities (PWDs). The paralegal training took place in Dodoma, Mwanza, and Dar es Salaam, while the PWDs training took place in Musoma, and the social workers training took place in Arusha, Mbeya, Kigoma, and Mwanza. We had the privilege to organize and facilitate a workshop training for 94 women members of parliament in Dodoma with the objective to influence the needs and priorities of women, children, and PWDs into national policies, plans and budget with Tanzania women parliamentarians. The ambition to reach all is never overlooked. We were successful in engaging the media, notably through our social media pages, Haki tv channel, radio stations, and television programs. I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone for their extraordinary efforts in achieving these goals. Finally, in terms of governance, we were successful in monitoring the Kigoma by-elections in the Buhigwe and Muhambwe seats and preparing the consolidated report that was presented to the NEC.
